What Squrlio does
Squrlio is a Chrome extension that helps architects, engineers, interior designers, landscape architects, and manufacturer reps capture product research from web pages and organize it into structured Projects and Items. You can then export those Projects as letterheaded PDFs or paste them into emails and documents.
What data Squrlio collects
Squrlio only records information you explicitly capture. When you trigger a capture — highlighting text, taking a region screenshot, right-clicking an image, saving a link, or appending to a Part Number — the following is saved locally in your browser:
- The text, image, or link you captured
- The URL and title of the page you captured from (so the PDF's Source Link is filled in automatically)
- The page's
og:site_namemeta tag (or hostname fallback) used to auto-fill the Manufacturer field; you can edit or clear it any time - Part-number fragments you capture or type, normalized and stored as ordered chips on the active Item
- A timestamp
- Letterhead fields you enter in Settings (firm name, your name, title, phone, email, website, address, logo image)
All of this is stored using Chrome's chrome.storage.local API, which is sandboxed to your browser profile on your computer. It is not uploaded anywhere.
What Squrlio does not collect
- No analytics or telemetry of any kind
- No account, sign-in, or user identifier
- No browsing history beyond the page you were on at the moment you pressed a capture button
- No keystrokes, form inputs, passwords, or financial information
- No data from pages you did not explicitly capture from
Network requests Squrlio makes
Squrlio's network behavior is intentionally minimal. The only outbound request it makes is when you right-click an image and choose Squrlio: Add image. In that case, Squrlio fetches the image from its original URL so it can be stored as part of your capture. This request goes directly to the image's host server, not to Squrlio. No request includes identifying information beyond the standard HTTP request your browser would make when loading that image normally.
Permissions and why Squrlio needs them

host_permissions: <all_urls> | Capture work is done from any manufacturer, retailer, or reference site. Squrlio does not read or modify page content unless you trigger a capture on that page. |
Third parties
Squrlio does not share, sell, or send your data to any third party. It has no integrations with advertising networks, no tracking pixels, and no affiliate networks. When you click an external link from inside the extension (such as an open-in-new-tab button for a Source Link), that request goes directly from your browser to the destination site and is governed by that site's privacy policy, not ours.
Exports
When you choose Export PDF, the PDF is generated locally in Chrome. No data leaves your computer during export. When you choose Copy Project or Copy Item, the rich HTML is placed on your clipboard — where it goes from there (email, Notion, Word) is entirely your choice.
Uninstall and data deletion
Uninstalling Squrlio from chrome://extensions permanently deletes every Project, Item, capture, and Letterhead field stored by the extension. There is no other copy of your data for us to retain.
Children
Squrlio is a professional tool for design-industry workflows and is not directed at children under 13. Squrlio does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted at this URL with an updated effective date. Because Squrlio has no account system, we cannot notify you directly — please check back if you are concerned about changes.
